Diane Hurtt Rowell entered God's Heavenly Garden with family at her side at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Eastover, NC on January 13, 2019. Diane was born December 23, 1950 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ.
Diane also known as “Mama Dee” and “Sweets” was educated in the Piscataway School System. Diane had been employed by Union Carbide. She lived in Piscataway, NJ until moving to Milford, DE and then relocated to Fayetteville, NC.
Diane became a member of Freedom Baptist Church under leadership of Rev. Paul D. Worley.
Diane was 3rd of seven siblings. She adored and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Diane was very loving and kind to everyone. She always made you laugh by telling her jokes or stories. She loved baking, cooking and doing crafts with her grandchildren. She was always there whenever anyone needed her for help. She loved cooking chicken on the grill. But most of all she loved the LORD
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas Lee Rowell; father Robert
Leon Hurtt; brother Ronald Leon Hurtt; brother- n- law James Seymoure.
Diane leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother Helen A. Hurtt of Apex, NC; her children; Thomas Lee Rowell, Jr (Kimberly Blake-Rowell) of Elizabeth, NJ, Alberta Shavon Rowell-Hernandez (Fabien) of Plainfield, NJ and Robert Vander Rowell (Erica Bethea-Rowell) of Fayetteville, NC; her siblings Roger Hurtt (Brenda) of Plainfield, NJ; Gwendolyn Seymoure of Apex, NC; Frederick Hurtt of Plainfield, NJ; Robin Hurtt-Bright of Plainfield, NJ; Mary Ellen Hurtt “Dubby” of Milford, Delaware, 9 grandchildren; Nicholas Blake, Shanice Blake, Keanna Rowell, Elijah Rowell, Jordan Rowell, Terry Bethea-Rowell, Amiyah Rowell, Ariana Rowell, Fabien Hernandez, Jr.; 2 great grandchildren; Shaiaja Blake-Dorsey, Briel Tinsley; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends.
