Obituary

Shirley will now go to her eternal home where she will join her husband, Maurice Meade, stepfather, Archie Wilson: daughter, Catherine Wilson; and brother, Thomas Wilson

Shirley was born in Newport News, Virginia. The family moved to Newark, NJ where Shirley was educated in the Newark Public School System. Shortly after becoming a resident of Plainfield in 1967, Shirley successfully gained employment at Hartwyck Nursing Home for nearly twenty years. Upon retirement, Shirley achieved her dream of becoming the sole proprietor and owner of "Simply Nice", a clothing store she operated for fifteen years.

Shirley was spiritual, strong, compassionate, generous, determined and extremely devoted to her children and family. Her passions included church, basketball, roller skating, puzzles and fashion. Quality time spent with Shirley afforded her the opportunity to tell stories of her life's experiences that would make you smile or laugh yourself silly!. It brought her great joy sharing there words wisdom. Through her efforts of street ministry she acquired the name "Soulja", which she was lovingly referred to amongst her children.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Gertrude Wilson; three sons, Randy Wilson, Michael Kosch and Richard Wilson (Lisa); two daughters, Stephanie Kosch and Lisa Seritella; three sisters, Irene Chapman, Gertrude Smith (Junius) and Carolyn Brown. She also leaves to cherish her memory; two devoted friends, Marco Seritella and William Velard, thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, other family members and many friends.
