Marion Mobley Jr. was born November 20, 1940 in Chester, South

Carolina to the late Marion Mobley, Sr. and Janie Johnson Mobley.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was

baptized at Black Rock Baptist Church in Chester, South Carolina.

Marion was educated in the Chester School system. Upon completing

his education, he met the love of his life Rubye D. Hunt and married in

August 1965. They relocated to Summit, New Jersey. To this union, two

daughters were happily welcomed, Tamika and Jamilla Mobley. Marion

was also the proud parent of DeJuan Wilmore and Cherell Reese-Davis.

Marion joined Fountain Baptist Church where he was a member of the

men’s choir. He was employed as a truck driver for Kuehne Chemical

Company in Kearny, NJ. He later joined Hertz Trucking Company as a

heavy equipment operator and truck driver. Marion belonged to the

Operating Engineers Local 825.

Marion Mobley enjoyed life and LOVED to make others laugh. He

believed in being good to both children and the elderly.

Marion was predeceased in death by his wife Rubye D. Mobley, four

brothers: David, George, Waldo and Albert Mobley. One sister,

Kathleen Canady.

Marion leaves to cherish his loving memory his children Tamika Mobley

(Laurel, MD), Jamilla Mobley (Summit, NJ), Cherell Reese-Davis

(Isaiah Davis, Orange, NJ) and one son DeJuan Wilmore (San Diego,

CA). One sister, Mattie B. Mobley (Union, NJ) three brothers, Isaiah

Mobley, (Old Bridge, NJ), Charlie Mobley (Evelyn Josephine,

Kennesaw, GA) and Thomas Lee (Buffalo, NY). One Brother-in-law,

Richard Hunt (Shelby, NC) and sisters-in-laws: Barbara, Rebecca,

Angelia Mobley and Flossie Hunt. One Uncle, Hardin Stradford Sr., one

special cousin Rose Lee Smith, six grandchildren: Alexis Wilmore-Todd,

Kennedy, Trenton, Treymir, Avyiana Wilmore and Alexis Davis. One

Godson, Tariq Stewart and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
