Irene (Irenea) Moore entered life on March 25, 1926 and passed on November 24, 2018, at the age of 92. Born to wonderful parents, Apolinar Eleazar and Maria Paz Granada in her place of birth Tayabas, Province of Quezon, Philippines. She was one of six children and is survived by her youngest sister, Angeles Macaraig, fondly called Tita Helen, Fannie Putman, sister-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her siblings: Leonides, Eriberto, Joventina and Tirso preceded her in life. She attended Tayabas Elementary School and Luis Palad National High School in Tayabas. Her parents were devout Catholics and she attended their family church: Minor Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel in Tayabas, Quezon, which inspired her faith and life of service which she continued after leaving the Philippines. She married, Major Willie Moore, Jr. of Cochran, GA. ,as a war bride in the Philippines, who predeceased her. He fondly called her “pudding”. Four children were born from their union; Rev. Anita M. Shepherd of Jacksonville, FL, Eldred A. Moore (Veronica)of Piscataway, N.J., Barbara Abdullah-Smith (Richard) of Chicago, IL and Imelda T. Moody of Columbia, SC. She traveled extensively as a military wife and with her husband during his professional career with Progressive Life Insurance Company in New Jersey. She was fondly called “Nana” by her many grandchildren; KaiA. Smith, Karim H. Shepherd (Bridget), Faizah S. Mixson, Scheronne Dunham, Bryndan Moore (Jaimi), Rustin Moore (Stephanie), Kasib Duane Abdullah (Laurita), Tariq Abdullah (LaDonna), Nia M. Abdullah, Ninah Moore (Jamal), Ryan L. Smith, Nicole Moody, Darion Moody, Khiry Moody, and Ja’Naia Moody. Great-grandchildren: Jasmin Conner, Qur’an Smith, Imani Smith, Hasan Shepherd, Jihad Shepherd, Kennedy Shepherd, Bryce Shepherd, Demi E. Diggs, Amir M. A. Moore, Bryndan M. A. Moore, Asha M. Abdullah, Mia I. Abdullah, Kimora A. Abdullah, Zara S. Abdullah, Hanif R. Abdullah, Najaa H. Abdullah, Jahmal Moore, Corri Pearyer and Coran Pearyer. Great-Great grandchildren: Khai’im Smith, Ayele Smith and Cameron Smith.In total, 15 Grandchildren, 19Great-grandchildren and 3 Great-great-grandchildren. Irene Moore lived a life of service in her church and communities. She was a member ofthe Officer’s Wives Auxiliary, a lifetime member of the Members of Responsible Society (M.R.S. Club. Inc.(Members of Responsible Society) and Bridge Club. She was a dedicated member of St. Bernards Church in Plainfield, N.J. where she served in The Sick and Homebound Ministry, Nursing the Sick Ministry, Rosary Society and the Community Breakfasts until her health declined. Mrs. Moore was also an avid supporter of Veteran Organizations

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Bernard Church, 1235 George St. Plainfield, N.J. 07062 on Monday Dec.3, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will also be held Sunday Dec. 2, 2018 from 5:00 -7:30 PM and on Dec 3, 2018 from 9:00 -10:00 AM at the St. Bernards Church of Clairvaux. A repast will be held following the Celebration of Life Story. Final resting place will be at The Long Island National Cemetery that is the veteran part of Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery, East Farmingdale, N.Y.11735 on Tuesday December 4, 2018
